# Creating Documents (Main Panel)

## Creating Documents using + Button in Toolbar

When you open the search screen for an activity you can normally find a large + button in the toolbar in the top right. Click this button to create a new document.

You can also copy an existing document from the search view.

## Creating Documents using the Create Menu in Toolbar

If instead of clicking the + button you click on the more button (highlighted above) you get a menu of additional options available when in search mode, such as:

1. Create a document of a specific type. Document types influence how a document behaves, and you get a list of available types as a sub-menu
2. Create a document from a template
3. Create a document in a new session. This is the same as clicking on + from the toolbar above, except that a new browser tab or session is opened for you keeping the current document open.
